Lucian Sănmărtean a semnat cu Al Taawon, echipa din Emiratele Arabe Unite antrenată de Constantin Gâlcă.
Lucian Sănmărtean avea ofertă și la Dinamo, dar echipa din Arabia Saudită a putut să-i ofere un contract mult mai bun din punct de vedere financiar.
